Management and Treatment of Canine Hyperadrenocorticism*

Dr. Lara Rose discusses up-to-date information on the pathophysiology, clinical signs, diagnostic testing, treatment and monitoring of Cushing’s disease as well as some common questions and challenges faced by clinicians.
She started her journey in veterinary medicine when she began her studies at McGill University. Her focus has always been animal related and she graduated in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in animal biology. She then went on to obtain her DVM in 2005 at the Université de Montréal. The following year, she completed a small animal rotating internship at the Atlantic Veterinary College. Dr. Rose has been a member of the ACVIM since 2011 and she completed her residency at the Université de Montréal from 2006 to 2009. Her professional interests include gastroenterology, endocrinology and immune mediated diseases. In 2006 she joined the internal medicine team at the Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud.

ATLANTIC PROVINCES VETERINARY CONFERENCE

ULTRASONOGRAPHY AND EMBRYO TRANSFER WORKSHOPS
Western College of Veterinary Medicine

Ultrasonography and Embryo Transfer Workshops are being conducted in tandem May 7 - 12, 2017 at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. The Ultrasound Workshop is a two and a half-day course and the Embryo Transfer Workshop is a three and a half-day course.  Both workshops will involve lectures and hands-on lab sessions. 2017 CANADIAN VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (CVMA) CONVENTION 
July 13–16, 2017, PEI Convention Centre, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
In collaboration with the Registered Veterinary Technologists and Technicians of Canada (RVTTC), this unique four-day event features a strong scientific program, with over 40 speakers and offers up to 28 RACE-accredited hours of CE. Sessions include wet labs, and concurrent sessions exploring companion animal, ruminant, equine, practice management and animal welfare issues.

ASSOCIATION OF VETERINARY ACUPUNCTURISTS OF CANADA
Canadian Basic Veterinary Acupunture Course
The Association of Veterinary Acupuncturists of Canada (AVAC) is pleased to announce the Basic Veterinary Acupuncture Course to be held in 2017 - 2018 in Toronto, Ontario
This is a post graduate course for licensed Veterinarians. The program is comprised of four sessions, each consisting of five days of lecture and labs, followed by the “International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS)” written and practical examinations, including both canine and equine components.
All lectures are in English but French speakers and TA’s will be present.
